Need suggestions on how to make one of these...
I have seen these and looked them over. They are some kind of a thin dense foam, 1/4 plywood then this same thin dense foam again, they work GREAT and cut down on both the movement and sound of the machine when in use. However it seems a bit expensive.

I HAVE tried the waffle placemats and the non skid shelf lined stuff, but nothing compares to this
Any thoughts or suggestions of something else to try!
Thanks everyone for the help.

There are kids' play mats and anti-fatigue mats for standing on that come in the shape of puzzle pieces. Easily found on Craigslist or in thrift stores. I would imagine a piece cut to size would work quite well.

Honestly I think that is the same as the Steady Betty. It's two foam lined vinyl wrapped around boards sandwiched together. The foam back vinyl use to be sold at most upholstery shops and fabric shops for outdoor use. You can iron on the foam side, doesn't hurt the vinyl at all. I'm not a fan of Martelli sales tactics but that price is very reasonable.
