    Default A lot of metallic thread for this quilt.

    I made this large quilt and used inexpensive silky dark brown polyester fabric. (The pattern calls for Dupiani silk) The quilt is embroidered with gold metallic thread. It took 14 spools. I used Coats & Clark brand. Loved the thread. Did not make any adjustments to my machine. Used prewound white bobbins and dark brown embroidery thread for the stippling, which is done in the pattern. No special needle. Schmetz size 12.

    Forgot to mention, there are 35 blocks plus the border blocks and corners. The quilt is more spectacular than the picture shows, as you can probably imagine with the gold metallic thread and satiny fabric.

    Wow, it reminds me of medieval tapestry. Anyway you could take some closeup pics and post those?

    Sewing the blocks so they match up is most important. See here how they would need to be sewn to fit the flower design.

    60" x 50" is what this one is. Pattern is called "Golden Tapestry".
