Wow! So many inspiring projects posted since I checked in this morning.... great job everyone. Love the horse appliqué but then I really enjoy it. Here's my penguin block from fatcatpatterns for August..... He was kind of plain this month so added an appliquéd guitar that I found on a free coloring page.

Great penguin block... so cute.

Here's my progress today... piles of duos that will become 4-patches and many HSTs to trim... I'm trying to make more squares to complete the quilt I have laid out in the third picture. Will keep working tonight and see how far I can get. Hope to at least get the 4-patches together and pressed.

Ok Time to check back in. Just got home from my sewing day with friends. We had a ball. I worked on a quilt for my GD.
Courtyard Garden by Thimbleberries. I got the center part done and the first narrow border around it. Now for the picket fence border. Everyones projects are wonderful. I love them all, especially the appliqued horse! So cute. I don't know how to post pics, but am really enjoying all of yours.

Wow, so much progress today! Thimblebug, I love that penguin with his guitar. so cute! And sewbizgirl, that quilt is looking great. I made one with those same blocks, but it had sashing between them. A very different look, without the sashing. I really like it!
Jeanne, the horse is lovely. You may not like applique, but it looks like you did a really good job of it.

I'm making progress on a couple of my projects. Another hour should finish tying off the ends of the custom quilt, so I can start quilting the blue one tomorrow morning. And I've made some progress on my Christmas Tree skirt. I'll show a picture of the pieces when I'm done for the night. Now, I'm not sure whether to head back up to the sewing room or go out for a walk to stretch my back. I probably should walk for a bit today.

Sunlover, I don't have any construction criticism either. I just love the addition of the solid red. I think it needs that calming affect also. Looking good!
