They should release according to comments I've seen in past. Not been there yet. Well depending on how much to take out. Good luck but I'm sure after washing they'll be fine.

I have used a few batiks and the holes did fill in or disappear after washing.

Before washing, you might try scraping your thumbnail back and forth over the holes. This works for me.

I just shoot needle holes with a burst of steam and lightly scuff them with a fingernail. Washing works too, I just get impatient.

It depends on how large of a needle you were using. I sew on lots of batiks... and if the needle is large because of the tight weave , the holes do not always disappear from removed stitches , when washed. Make test piece using scraps of the same fabrics, batting and backing.. and see what happens. That is the only way you will know for sure

Agree ... it also depends on how close the stitches are. If it's a small/tight stitch then you might have holes. I've had that happen.

On a machine quilting site, I saw the suggestion of using a new electric toothbrush. I cannot remember if she spritzed it with water 1st or not. I found a cheap one for 3 bucks or so. Its got tape around the handle and lives by my long arm now!
