Default It should have been a Hawaiian-style pillow

... but I added a couple of borders and made it a small wall hanging. Since it was needle-turn applique I decided to hand quilt it--my first "large" project. It took me a couple of weeks at night, but I'm happy with how it turned out.

When I bought the pattern I also bought a piece of hand-dyed fabric for the flower because I thought it would be perfect for the pattern, and it is. Warning though: DO NOT use sateen for needle-turn applique! It frays much too much. I had to apply Fray Check to all the edges of the flower so I could work with it. Not fun.
