Hello Carol! My name is Vicki and I live in Surprise, AZ too! What a nice "surprise" to see your posting today! LOL! You will love it here and learn lots from the friendly quilters here on the board. Are you a winter visitor to the area or full time resident? Have you found The Quilted Cactus, a LQS here in Surprise? It's on the SEC of Reems and Bell. There are about a dozen or so quilt shops here in the Valley of the Sun. Hope to see some of your quilts posted soon!

Hi Nancy, you will love the valley of the Sun. Right now is the time to visit because it is not hot. of course the sun shines almost all the time. I moved here from Washington state last year on Jan. 4th. I love the people, the weather and the landscape. I live in Peoria about 20 minutes from Phoenix. My name is B.J.

Hi, my name is B.J. (Barbara, but my daughter is Barbara too.)
I actually grew up in Texas and Oklahoma. Then I married a rambler and have lived all over including Germany during the time the Berlin wall fell. I love to sew and talk about grandkids. I design and make clothes and window treatments. I have not been into quilting long, but I am hooked.
I live in the Valley of the Sun, Peoria, Az

Hi Nancy, AZ is a beautiful place to visit. It is usually in the 70's around this time of year. There is a lot to do and see. Don't miss out on Sedona and the Red Rocks (they are beautiful). Also, try to get to the Karchner Caverns (they are unbelievable)
Of course, you can just relax and enjoy the weather. Golf is everywhere. Also, a visit to our quilt stores are a must. LOL
When are you planning on coming?

Hi Vicki, I live in Sun City Grand in Surprise. We have been here 10 years and just love it. (would love it even more if my kids were here.) Yes, I have hit all the quilt stores. In fact, a couple of my friends and I are doing the Block of the Month at Quilter's Bee. That has to be the best deal in town. LOL The quilt is just beautiful. Looks a little complicated, but there are four of us working on it - so we should be able to figure it out.
Where in Surprise do you live? Do you belong to a Guild yet?
So many questions - I know. LOL
