    Default olfa cutter ???-don-isewman

I have a ??, and any suggestions, as to what to do. Does any 1 have a problem with the nut--that holds the blade on your cutter. I'm have a little bit of a problem with the nut loosening up a little. when I cut fabric. Is the cutter/nut wearing out. Is there anyway to keep the nut tight, and any products out there to put on the nut to help keep the nut tight. Don-isewman

Make sure you have the washer in the correct place and facing the right way. I had this problem after changing a blade and did not have it all back together the right way.
I had a package with an image of right way to load the blade and parts but can't find it. Hopefully some one can find a link to this.

Do you still have the wonky metal washer that is between the blade and the cutter?? I have had mine since they first were manufactured and don't remember having that problem. I find with age coming on that I am using my KAI more since it has a better handle for my arthritic hands.

Good grief! I've had the 'cowboy hat' going the wrong way for the last year! Cutter still worked, though. Thanks for that link!

On my older ones, the hubs gave me a small bottle of Locktite for my birthday. Solves many loose screw problems except the human ones. Lol.

I thought the washer went the other way - with the wings reaching towards the sky.

I have a Fiskars that does that. I just tighten it. It does not loosen very much. Not to the point of worrying that it might fall apart.

I've noticed the nut on my Olfa cutter loosening a little lately. I just stop and tighten it. I hope my cutter is not wearing out; but it well could be as I use it daily. I watched the video and I am putting the cutter together correctly after changing a blade.

my friend try putting a little bet of batting or from a cotton ball ,just a few to tighten the nut tight.
