To momto4, I want to say please don't be afraid to try paper piecing. As long as you don't start with a teeny tiny pattern (small pieces can be tricky), it is really very easy, fun, and produces very accurate results. My suggestion is that you start with Carol Doak's beginner's book "Show Me How To Paper Piece". She literally walks you through the process, step by step, and you end up with a cute wall hanging. By the time you finish this ittle wall hanging you will feel completely confident with paper piecing. Just make sure you buy the Quarter Inch ruler and use the post card trick. Have fun.

I've only done one PP project, and it was a wall hanging consisting of about 30 small houses, trees, etc. (about 3" squares). I thoroughly enjoyed doing PP. To avoid those tiny, annoying pieces of paper, I used the dissolveable paper, and it worked great. You leave the paper in place, and if you wash the quilt/project, the "paper" dissolves. In my case, it's a wall hanging and won't be getting washed on a regular basis, but it was much easier than picking out all the tiny pieces of paper.
Great job on your quilt!
