December Pincushion & Needlecase Swap - Sign-ups close on December 1st.

Pat those are such pretty mittens. Are they crocheted? It is nice all of those things you have made. You are a blessing to many.
Dwina that is cold, and to be out on the sea I can't even imagine. Growing up I lived in Chicago (the windy city), and it got cold there, but being right out on it is something else.
If I ever learned to knit it would mainly be to make a pair of cozy, warm, wool socks. I can't imagine anything better.
I have cold feet. lol..
We are suppose to get down in the 20's tonight.
Stay warm everyone.

Even though I have been a member here for sometime now I find this a confusing board so usually forget I'm a member. This past 6 months or so I have been trying to learn my way around and just saw this swap. I bet it was fun and would have joined in had I found it sooner. But alas I'm usually a day late and a dollar short. Oh well. Any hints as to a possible near future swap here? I will admit I don't care for fabric swaps you never know the quality you will get so I do shy far away from those. I love making blocks and projects. I've been a quilter for about 15 years and for a year now I have done machine embroidery but my experience in that is still a baby. I am not always able to posts much unless I'm actually involved in something. Just finished a Secret Santa swap that was sooooo much fun. Now looking for something else to get involved in.
By the way I live in Florida, I'm stay at home (Ha!) older person with disabilities. One outside dog and a non smoker for over a year now. So no smelly fabrics here. I belong to 5 quilds, I'm also a beader. I make at least 10 or more quilts a month for charities I'm involved in. All this and still have some time to spare. Needless to say I don't sleep much. LOL.

And I thought we were going to be cold tonight in the mid to lower 40's. We do get below freezing but it doesn't last very long. Usually about 14 days scattered thru January and February. But I remember all too well blizzards, ice, and just being frozen all winter. I'm originally from Rhode Island. Curl up with that quilt that needs the binding hand stitched and you will be warm in the process of having that quilt in your lap covering you. Just a thought.

Sew Diva we also make beaded pins to go along with our pincushions. Since you are a beader this will be right up your alley. We always love to have newbies join. It's going down to 15 tonight. I went by the ski areas and they were making snow. We don't even have a dusting on the ground but they are making snow. Susan the mittens are knitted. I'd like to make socks to but I don't know how to knit with double pointed needles. Dwina I didn't know that they went out fishing in the winter. Nothing like being wet and cold. Sew Diva I used to live in NH and have been to RI plenty of times. Love New England

Dwina, how do you fish when it's so cold?? Do you get lobsters for dinner a lot? Too cold out for me to think about being on the water.
