Me too! I even buy it by the gallon on Amazon! Just pour it into the smaller bottles to use it.

I have used Sta-Flo liquid starch diluted equl parts for my last two quilts, the last one being king size. It held the sandwitch together for me to get it quilted on my DSM. I did both quilts as Quilt as You Go. I sprayed the starch onto the batting and left it to soak in somewhat then ironed the top to the batting. Flipped the quilt and did the back side. If it seemed like it was starting to separate, I just sprayed the fabric with water and ironed it back down. Worked for me and the cost was minimal at $2.97 a half gallon at Walmart. I don't know this method would work on a big quilt, but for Quilt as You Go, it worked perfectly. I saw this posted right here on this forum quite some time ago and tried it, because I didn't like the fumes from the temporary spray adhesive that I bought.

Hi Cindy, I have found that "Dritz" basting spray is just as good as that expensive stuff. A little goes a long way and I don't smell the fumes. You might think about trying some of that....it 6-7 bucks a can.

I'm with feline fanatic, too - jacked up prices so you can't buy without a 40-50% off coupon. The price quoted was totally unreasonable.

I use Dritz from Joanns and use a 50% off coupon. No odor on this brand.

I use dritz also and no, there is no odor. It is much cheaper. I get mine @ Walmart as there are no fabric shops in this small town.

I just stocked up at Joanns online 50% off notions sale, $12.24/large can. It's the only way I baste a quilt and it works great. Just have to wait for a sale. I don't know if they ship to Canada. Sorry.
