MamaH - you are a sewing demon!

I am off tomorrow and have to run to the sewing machine shop (long arm is just being plain ugly!) to get some different needles (before I throw it out the window) and see if that will help it from breaking thread.

After that, I hope to be able to sew some blocks -- I'll be lucky to get a couple done.

It must be the week for long arms acting up. I snapped a guide wire on Monday and since I live in the middle of nowhere, it will be next week before the replacement arrives. That's a big reason why I have so much time to sew now! I was hoping to finish a quilt that says "buy my house" to put on our bed for the listing pictures/showings. Probably that's out the window now

I have a question - did we each get at least one F8 from each boomer? I went through my package several times and I don't see a F8 from happylab. I do have double F8s from a few boomers and also got one of mine back. I'm just checking as these booms are new to me. Also just FYI - I'm trouble shooting my machine at the moment. Had some unexpected trouble with some blocks in my last boom. If I can't figure out what's wrong and fix it on my practice blocks, I may be sending fabric back to boom members. Wish me luck! Chris

I ended up up with an extra of Nelco's. I think Barb mentioned she had some left overs that were left out accidentally - check with her.

Whats going on with your machine? Do you have a friend to borrow a loaner? I'd send you one of my extras but I just killed two in the last month. I abuse my machines so I have 2 extras on hand so when one goes to the repair, I'm still able to work - both were given terminal diagnoses and were donated to the dumpster. Probably it would be smarter to buy fancy high end but I like my $125 machines. I've owned 4 of them now and would buy it again without a second thought.

Having trouble w/my blocks coming up undersize. Had some come out fine and some 1/2 inch too small - using the same thread and my 1/4" foot. I'm adjusting my thread tension and sewing sample block before I cut into anyone's fabric. Really frustrated - I'm sure a machine check-up would help but as I only have the one machine I'm kind of stuck at the moment. I tried switching to Superior threads Bottom Line because it's thinner but could not get the tension right to sew with it. It would literally slide right through my fabric when I tried to use my threadcutter no matter how I set my tension. Will see how the sample blocks come out and go from there.

We are listing the house on Tuesday so I'm trying to get these done before then.
WOW! looks like I will have a very bright and happy quilt. Thank Kelly

Finally got one finished! Celandine I saw where you didn't care where your fabric was used so I switched it up from where other's had placed it. Hope you like the change.
