Mom was out visiting for a week so I made her quilt while she was here so it would be easier for her to give input on what she wanted. I stayed up late last night finishing it as she was leaving today and I wanted her to be able to take it home with her.

It was not that bad.... It was a layer cake, and I made the HSTs the way Jenny Doan does, so that was fast. Then I did the layout and just sewed the rows, etc. Sewing the top was pretty quick and easy. The quilting and binding did take up pretty much an entire day though.

It is special that your mom got to help with the choices that needed to be made in the beginning and it is wonderful that you have completed the quilt quickly. You should be pleased and she should enjoy it for a very long time.
