This jacket is on my bucket list! I've had the pattern for a whole year already, and can't convince myself to start on it for two reasons. First of all, the fabric investment is HUGE. And secondly, so am I. 
I'm actually thrilled that you posted a picture of it ON yourself... I think you look great in it, but I'm larger than you are and I still wonder if I'll walk around looking like I just tossed a shag carpet over myself. But doubts need to end! I absolutely love this jacket and I'm going to convince myself to make it! (As soon as I can find some batik on sale....LOL.)
Edited to add: I just read your original post again, and I'm assuming that you are the lovely blonde lady and not the lovely brunette lady...LOL. I'm a little bigger than your dark-haired friend.
