Any rotary sharpening thing--I've bought a couple of things. None have worked well.

I am not a gadget person,--much rather collect fabric--so I don't have a lot of gadgets I have bought that I've not used. I did buy a bias binder maker once and haven't used it yet, but I may, so I don't consider it a waste...I'm glad I have it....it wasn't really very pricey or big, so didn't take much room in the suitcase.

Thanks for the info on blade sharpeners. I was all set to buy one from a good source but you all have convinced me not to waste my money.

Neither of my rotary sharpeners worked very well either and were definitely money wasted.

A tiny iron. Kept getting burned and it was no more useful than a pressing stick I made.

I love specialty rulers. Everyone I have bought have cost less then a pair of shoes I don't see the gripe about the cost. I've notice over the years at guild, the ones that keep harping over the cost of an item they buy never seem to enjoy using it unless they borrow one. LOL
I guess the one quilting item I bought and used only a few times is the Alto Quilt Cut 2. It's a quality product but I don't like using it at all.

couple rulers like the twister. Not sure i'll use it. I bought the rotary sharpener from a tv show and sent it back. Worthless. Had my copy of the receipt. Took 3-4 months before I got my refund. We argued about the time I had it in my possession. 1 week and dates of comparison were pointed out They said I didn't give it time. I tried it on 6 blades immediately and had DH try it. Won't do that again. If I can't just go to a store to get it, I don't need it that bad.

I once bought an Alex Anderson "Four In One" tool. It had a seam ripper, a stiletto, a flat part for "finger pressing" and a pointy thing for poking out corners. It was wooded & pretty but the caps over the stiletto & ripper would fall off & it was really poorly made. I did not like it at all.
