How do you store your really long lengths of fabric?

After my attempts at rolling long lengths of stabilizer over tubes, I think this would be difficult to roll and keep tidy as you roll. Hard to explain, but without one of those roller things they have in fabric stores for this purpose, it doesn't seem to work very well. Maybe if you had someone to help it would work better. Mine ended up really messy.

I also store larger lengths on the cardboard bolts from the fabric store. Joann's or Hancock Fabrics is more than happy to part with them. I simply place a new label or piece of painter's tape over the original information and re-write how much yardage is on that bolt.

I claimed the closet in the guest room and DH put up wire shelving for me. I keep my collection of thrift store sheets for quilting along with my larger yardage pieces on one side of this closet and my fleece backings on the other side.
I am always on the lookout for great deals on the fleece so need a place to keep it when I find one. The closet doors protect the fabric and the light helps me find things when I need them.
When I luck into a great sale on sheets at a thrift store, I will often pick out mix and match colors that I can later use together as coordinating fabrics. I keep these finds together on the shelves.

I store mine, in a folded form, just like everything else. I tried the boards for my fabric, but it took up too much space so I took them off and just stack them again. I just fold and stack in my shelves. Works for me.
