[ATTACH=CONFIG]525849[/ATTACH]I was putting up my summer hanger and thought others may want to see an easy way to do 3-D leaves. It is just a little different look for a change.

Choose a leaf fabric and lay your piece of fabric on top of a larger background fabric square. Sew any kind of a outward curve the size you want, with right sides facing each other. I used blue thread do you can see my curve. After sewing the curve, start pulling the leaf fabric back creating little pleats until you get a nice curve on the leaf. Secure with pins and sew across.[ATTACH=CONFIG]525850[/ATTACH]

I usually just pin the pleats and place the second piece of background fabric on top and sew the seam but in this tutorial I did it in two steps so you could see it. Here is the picture of the background fabric on top, sewn and trimmed to 1/4 inch seam allowance.[ATTACH=CONFIG]525853[/ATTACH]

I didn't understand the first picture until I looked at them all and went back to look at the first one again. The print hides the folds, but I'm sure you can see it better in person. The second print shows up well.
