I wish I could thank every one of you personally for your response to my post. I guess that's impossible, so here's a big THANK YOU to all. Maybe someday I'll have another quilt to show off but until them I will continue to admire all the wonderful things you all do. Thanks again. Oofta!

    Oofta:
Doesn't matter if you had a hands on instructor or if you were sequestered in your sewing room all by yourself swearing at each point that wasn't pointy...you DID IT...that's the main thing. You made it and it's gorgeous. Thanks for sharing.

Your Lone Star is beautiful! I am finishing one in Red, White and Blue. I got it at our Guild for $1.00, and it was half-done. I am just now completing it and it has been over 2 years.
I think you have the same book I bought which makes it much easier to make this pattern. I would love to make it again using her techniques as it seemed so much easier.
First, I have to finish some of the projects already started and get our Sons' quilt made for Christmas.
How long did it take to make this one?

:) What a beautiful quilt, I have always wanted to make a lone star quilt but guess that I am afraid to try. But maybe some day. Have to find an easy pattern to try first.

Here is a pretty new book I bought from a book club which I want to make a lone star wall hanging from after I finish some of this other "stuff."
It is: Easy and Elegane Lone Star Quilts; All the WOW without the Work! Author is Shirley Stutz. It has lots of different looks to the quilt, and the directions look easy to follow; what I always have to have. There are patterns and it looks much easier than the "old" way of making this quilt.

I think it is wonderful to do a project in a class or with friends for guidance, especially when it is a technique that you haven't done before... no need for a confession.... that is how we learn.
A friend that was helping me, said "that is what quilters do.... they pass their knowledge on to other quilters".
You did a beautiful job and I love your choice of colors. Quilter 1234
