Default Bernina 440 distance to right of the needle

I went to my local shop and they have a 440 that I am thinking about. I forgot to check to see what the distance to the right of the needle is. Is there anyone that has one that can tell me? TIA

Mine is 7.5" (440 bought many years ago). Great machine BTW.

Thanks, it looked larger in the store. I have a Bernina 230PE, it is 6 1/2 from the needle so I'd only be gaining an inch. zI have a separate embroidery machine so not much of a compelling reason to trade.

The BSR might be reason enough to trade.

Or the stronger, faster motor. More memory. Lots more stitches. Mirror image. Rock-back half-stitch in foot control. Wider feed dogs. Wider decorative stitches. Bobbin thread sensor.

It's actually amazing how much difference 1 inch makes in the harp. I didn't expect to find it significantly helpful, but I was wrong. I've done a king size on my 440, and while it was tight and required careful planning, it was completely doable.
