    I would not use any strips at all. I think the strips become the focal point instead of the beautiful blocks.

    I think I would like a color that does not stand out, one that lets the beautiful blocks shine. Maybe a lighter grey than you used for the background?

    How wide does the sashing need to be? If it is very narrow, perhaps the black or yellow would look okay. As shown, I think they take over too much.

    I like the purple best or if you have more of the background fabric, I might use that to blend right in. Pretty blocks!

    I was going to say purple until you posted the background is grey. Can you get a darker grey? I'd use that.

    i prefer the yellow. to me, the black and red are distracting from your lovely blocks. my second choice would be the purple

    I second a grey...kind of a charcoal might be good. Also agree with Monale that it could be a little more narrow than show. It's going to be lovely no matter which you decide!
