    Default Drawing a blank...

    Good morning,

Does anyone know the name of a ruler that is no longer than 5 or 6 inches long and has a long hole in the center of it with a piece that can be moved back and forth? I lost mine and am looking for another one. I think it has something to do with seams. Thanks!

I still have the seam gauge I used 50+ years ago. Those things are indestructible.

Sam gauge should be available anywhere sewing notions are sold, probably even Walmart

Your question brought back memories of working as an alterationist in the late 80s, hemming jeans and skirts! I like quilting a lot better!

The old ones are great! Still have mine. Just purchased a second one to put in my travel sewing kit. The moveable piece is loose. No way go tighten up the hold. Grrr. Why we can't enforce quality when items are made I am stymied. I would prefer to pay more as long as the quality is up to par.
