I did it. I had figured out how to put in those inserts in the original thread.

But if you put your small inserts right to the bottom of the seam, you won't have to trim. There is no reason to leave that quarter inch free on the petals. That would save you a little time. Or fabric! You could cut the petals one quarter inch shorter. Less bulk.

For those who wondered about the size, mine measures about 14 and 3/8 from point to point. I put it on an 18 inch paper square and there is about 1 and 3/4 inches on all sides. Here is my sunflower, it would have looked better in more yellow tones but this is what was in my stash.[ATTACH=CONFIG]554880[/ATTACH]

Tartan, That's so pretty. Glad you finished it and showing the measurement. I would like to make one as a topper for on my kitchen island counter. I think I have enough batiks to make each petal different. I love the sunflower one though. It looks so different from your other one.(which is pretty also).
