I like the Violet Verbena! I also like the color you get when grey and brown have a baby, but don't they call the general family of grey-browns as "greige" (grey + beige)?

    Looks like muddled cornflower.

I love the violet verbena. I was thinking about painting my bathroom that color.

Not something I'll get enthusiastic about.

If you don't like the Sherwin Williams (Poised Taupe) or PPG (Violet Verbina) choices, you could go with Glidden (Byzantine Blue) or Olympic (Cloudberry). There are bound to be lots more from other paint companies as well. Even Pantone now announces colors of the season to increase demand for "new".

You can always tell the "new upcoming color" by watching TV.....notice how many purple (violet, lilac, verbana) colors people are wearing....ties, dresses, shirts etc.

I actually have 6 yds left over from a quilt with 4 pillow shams and matching curtains I made for a friend in 1975 and its a dead match for this ''new''color of the yr. This ensemble has survived 2 of her daughters and now a 3rd GD has decked out her room with it. Every thing old is new again.

It always seems to be something that's just a little different so your old fabric doesn't match it.
