Default Jaw Dropping Price on Featherweight!

Man, oh, man, I just replied to a Craigslist ad for a sewing machine being sold by someone doing pre-auction sales.
    '
He (or she) listed a FW for --get this-- only $35. Excellent working condiition. Looked good.

Thirty-five dollars. $40 if you met halfway somewhere for delivery!!!

I replied as SOON as I saw it. Ad was placed 21 hours ago. I didn't see it then. How come? I was looking yesterday!!

My jaw is going to be permanently dragging the floor today. I did reply and asked if they had any idea what Featherweights are going for--in our area a MINIMUM of 200, but in his/her area (DC suburbs) people are asking $300-$500. They're probably not GETTING more than 400, but still..

35 stinkin' dollars. Can I get some of you to attend my pity party? LOL

No, it had already been sold. Believe me, I wouldn't have asked him about the value if I'd been his buyer!

I feel for you as I've missed out on many deals like that as I don't surf CL all that often any more. When I do luck into a great deal I think of it as it was meant to be. I got my FW for $50 only because I happened to check CL 30 seconds after it had been listed, but my huge find was a FW cabinet I got for $25 a few weeks ago. The ad was 7 hours old and I thought no way, it has to be gone, but took a chance and texted her. When she texted me back to come and get it I texted her back that I was on my way and please don't sell it to someone else. You better believe I jumped in my car quick!

Awwww ... that's too bad. I can't believe it sold for $35. What was his reason ... do you know?

So you tried to sabotage the deal they made with someone else because you didn't get there first?

know how you feel. I missed a 222 for sale about an hour away. Turns out it had sold a few hours before I saw the add.

    The kicker - for $250.

I'm not sure what you mean by this question.
