    Default Need Suggestions

I made this little quilt for my first grandbaby. Grandchild #2 is on the way. I want to make something similar, but not a repeat of this quilt. I would like to do something with applique again, but don't know what. Any suggestions?

do you know the sex of baby #2? If a boy, maybe cars/trucks/bus/airplane etc? And if a girl, maybe flowers/kitties/puppies etc? Or maybe that pattern that uses the babies with the funny facial features? (not sure of pattern designer but think it's Amy Brackman??)

Cute quilt and cute baby. For #2 you could alternate 4-patch or 9-patch with basic blocks that you can use for your applique.

We do not know the sex of the baby. I had a similar thought.....think I can get both a boy and girl quilt done by January??

That's a great idea! I was thinking about doing the colors too.....each square appliqued with things of a certain color, along with the name of the color appliqued as well. But I really like the toy idea, too! Thanks!

What a darling, beautiful baby!! Oh, my goodness! Nothing on earth compares to the beauty of a baby. I can't wait till grandchildren come along.

Oh, were you asking about quilt ideas? Haha. I got a little sidetracked. The toy idea is a good one. You could use a mix of blues and greens which would be suitable for boy or girl.

Hand drawn (country style) hearts and stars? I also like the suggestion of alternating with 4- or 9-patch squares.

Do you mean using 4 or 9-patch squares in place of the yellow squares or the appliqued squares? What would you put in the other squares then? The yellow is minky, which I planned to use again.....(after I swore I'd never work with it again!).
