    Default Help with picture transfer

I would like to put some photo pics of grands on the back of a heritage quilt I am making for a grand baby. The back of the quilt is navy blue so pics should be on light fabric. Can someone walk me through this process. Iron transfers won't work. Been there. Thanks in advance. Gretchen.

The pictures that I've used come from the camera or phone. They are copied and printed out onto photo papers. You buy the pretreated photo papers at JoAnns, the local quilt store or even Michael's. Good luck.

quilt stores and any fabric store will have packages of 8 x 10 fabric pieces that have been pre-treated for photo printing on INK JET printers.

The photo papers are fabric. Yes, you print the picture and peel off the backing.

Photos printed onto fabric must be set with a hot iron, or else the ink will wash out. Sometimes I leave mine set overnight before pressing. You can buy the treated fabrics as mentioned previously, or d-i-y with Bubble Jet Set.

Many times I have found the photo "fabric" you find at quilt shops or JoAnns is rather stiff compared to regular fabric. I was at the show in Pigeon Forge, Tn this past week and EQ had some photo paper that was identical to regular cotton fabric. It was expensive but if you want a heritage quilt I would use the quality photo fabric.
