I like the orange. I think that blue is too dark, and my eye seems to get stuck on it, whereas with the orange border, I end up looking at Tweety. A lighter, brighter blue might work.

Too bright? For who? If you really like it then go for it! Sometimes you should just go with what you like vs. what you think "they" would like. I promise you will learn from the experience :-)

I would do a narrow orange followed by a wider blue and use the stripe for a bias binding.

When I went back and looked at them again, I kind of like the brightness of the orange, but don't really like the orange itself. I think yellow like the little tweetie birds in the print might be a good choice.

I prefer the blue-it makes the quilt much more subdued. What about a yellow to match tweety? Yellow and blue are pretty together but it probably would have to be a right yellow. Anxious to see which you decide on. Whatever you chose I am sure your quilt will be lovely.
