    Default Thread stand

Where do you put a thread stand? I have a couple of them. A single spool holder and a multi spool holder. Both have a flat base to stand on the sewing table. (Do not hook to machine)
It is inconvenient to put behind the machine. I have it next to the machine on the right. Is that too far away from the needle?

I have it to the right of the machine, but sometimes I put it up on my ironing board which is vertical to my machine table.

I have a 2 Brother sewing machines. A big embroidery/sewing and a WalMart Special. For both machines, I place behind my machine and then run the thread through or around something so that it goes to the pick up lever correctly. Not through the tension disc. It's whatever will work for you.

Be careful not to let the thread get caught in the hand wheel if you put it on the right side

behind and to the back. enough not to get caught in the quilt being pushed through the throat space. Thread goes over the top of the machine.

I have mine at the back of my machine behind where the thread spool is. I use the thread guides along the top of the machine by the thread spool holder. If you don't have a guide close to your stand, you can tape a paper clip to your machine to make an extra guide.
