I'm not sure what you mean about crop the fabric to a triangle.
I fill the triangle block with the fabric then use Rotate Fabric and Fussy Cut.
What EQ Quilt layout style are you using? ( and what version of EQ?) I do the layouts differently than others, but I can calculate the correct sizes for the triangles instead of using hexagons.

Are your fabric image files sized for EQ? 72 - 75 DPI and about 200x200 pixels and cropped to the repeat.

For your actual quilt, what fabric are you using in the center? I recognize the Jinny Beyer on the outside.

And I'm curious if you sewed it together in rows, or the center then the outside... I would love to have a variety of testers and opinions to figure out the easiest way to put these things together.

Please forgive the rude question. I see these things but I am afraid to offend...

Do you intend for your design to be symmetrical? If so, it's not.
Not to say it's wrong, because it's your design and it looks great.
It is also different from your first layout, which was almost symmetrical.

I just understand how difficult it is to keep these triangles pointing the way you intend!!
Also another great reason to get the layouts into EQ!

I found the same print you used, but not the same color.

Did yours finish about 63'' x 73''? Scale is everything with border prints.

I followed the instructions that I found on a youtube website to make hexagons on a custom quilt. My computer crashed last night, so I am using my dad's laptop, so don't have any of the links that I can refer to.

Basically, I made a custom block of 4 triangles, and then had another block of 2 triangles, and then a block of just a single triangle.

I could get the whole thing look the way I wanted except for the fabric.

I uploaded my image and it was in a square, when I used the paintbrush to choose my fabric, it kept giving me different "looks to the fabric" and I couldn't figure it out.

Since it was just a small quilt I simply laid out the design on the back of another quilt and pinned it together.

Well, it was supposed to be symmetrical, but I guess not ... I'll have to go and see where I messed up. I did sew it in rows, so it will be easy enough to fix.

Jenny Beyer has a great video on table runner using border fabric. Search on U -tube and you will find several people doing this.Also there is a download of instructions and templates showing all lengths. Very good instructions.
