The only thing different I do is cut the angle on the first strip before I start sewing. Attach binding around quilt. Then I stop sewing about 10 inches from angled end. Slip end into fold of binding and mark angle. Cut angle 1/2 inch longer than marked angle (two quarter inch seam allowances. Match edges and stitch

I have seen this technique on a youtube video and it's the technique I will use on my next binding, but this gives me a wonderful PDF I can print in color and put in my 3 ring quilting binding for quick reference. I'm a visual person. Thank you for the post.

I've only just discovered that tutorial. I think someone here posted it. I've used it a few times and I had perfect joins every time. I just love that method!

You and me too. I always seem to turn one side wrong and have to start over at least once. I hate that last step so maybe this tutorial will stop me from making that same mistake.

Thank you for posting the link. I have joined the binding ends this way and have always had success.

One exception, is the space I allow between the starting strip and the ending strip is approx. 12 - 13 inches on a project of throw size or larger.

This is a wonderful tute! But why not iron in that triangle in step 5 before you start. Then you start sewing 6 to 8 inches from the tip of the triangle. After you've sewn to within 6 to 8 inches of that tip, the end will be cut at the base of the triangle. No remembering or measuring. The triangle does the measuring for you. No matter how wide the binding is, that triangle shows the correct width.
