Thank you all for the encouragement and ideas! I put the project on hold the past few days while I tried to do some computer troubleshooting, and I am so glad I did. Thanks to this thread, I have some fresh ideas, and am really looking forward to incorporating some of them into my project!

I'll be sure to post pics when I make some progress!

It just sits over the machine.

Thanks for posting - now I have to make one too ;o)
What fabulous ideas! I was debating on whether i should hand applique or use fusible web to attach the doors and windows, but this will be so much more fun.

I am equally excited to read each new idea as they appear on this thread! I think this could easily be a "Member Swap" idea for those interested in building their own sewing Home! The possibilities with this really are endless - please keep us posted as you work on it!

Go for the decorations....think of how many themes you could choose from.....you probably have started a whole new trend in machine covers----there will be Pinterest pages devoted to sewing machine housing.

I love, love, love that you are making a home for your sewing machine. Your post made me LOL. I hope you post a picture when you finish the fine details. I bet it will be the cutest sewing machine house ever.
