Grandson's star quilt
#53
Gorgeous! I am looking at all quilts that might help me with a grad. from h.s. quilt for both a gr.son and gr. daughter. something they might want to take to college. I have reservations about that, due to others who like quilts but don't have one nor anyone to make one.

I'm always amazed at all the ways half-square triangles can be used, and I love making them. I can imagine keeping the layout straight could be difficult. I had that problem with a quilt I made for DD. I think I got at least one block turned the wrong way in every row, but I finally won!
Your quilt is gorgeous, bright and beautiful!

Beautiful and I love the bright colors. You learned the same lesson I did, NEVER let someone pick out the pattern, colors yes, that's all. I learned the hard way a couple years ago when my daughter picked out a twisted lone star with compass points in between the star points. Beyond my skill set, despite quilting since 1988. I finally managed to get the queen size quilt done and quilted and to her in time for Christmas two years ago.
