I was in the Birthday swap a way back and have a huge!! box of 2.5" squares. They call them candy. Never knew what to do with them, until Judy started this ride!! Yay for Judy!

Chasezzz....love the brightness of your patches. I'm anxious for the reveal of this quilt to see how all our patches/colors will turn out.

Hubbie and I organized our storage container (on our property) for moving. Boxed stuff, labeled, yard sale pile, researching the antiques we have that we don't want for pricing, Craigslist posting...phew! 30 years of accumulation...But we are doing good with letting go of stuff..I do not want to drag this stuff 1,000 miles. Now I'm ready for the mystery clue...hope to sew much of the weekend.

Since I will be running along behind the train for awhile, I thought I would post my scraps while we're still on this clue. It's kind of a controlled scrappy because these are from a 10" layer cake that I bought for some unremembered reason. Hope I have enough to finish the project. And if we need bigger pieces, I'll just have to do some piecing.

White Pine- I recognize those fabrics except I purchased a couple of charm squares and FQs. I never know what to do with layer cakes.

I'm finished except for pressing and trimming which I will do this evening. Phew! Just in time for the next clue!

These are terrible photos, but it appears that DH has shared his Type A flu with me, so I'll get some better pics when I can. They've been ironed, but not squared up. I just tossed 'em out on the table whether they were lined up or not. LOL! They're cell phone pics, so ....

First clue, Done! Off to a day of quilting with friends. I did learn the value of a scant 1/4 in making all these four patches to come out to 4.5 inches. (Also learned that not all 2.5 squares are really 2.5!) Quilting for years and never had a problem. This time..... nearly every single square had to be "unstitched" and resewn with that "scant" 1/4. Done and waiting for the next clue.
