Quarter Square triangle blocks with no bias edges

I ask the moderator if I could post a tute on this, and since she said a QST is public domain, no problem. Here it is. My inspiration was a gal on the mystery who said it could be done! Thanks.

It's finally sunny out and a better day for pictures. I'm hoping to achieve a jewel toned quilt by using up some batik fabric. I did duplicate the fabrics for the second clue, hope that will be okay. Here are my clue one and two units-

I'm finished with my four square patches an about half finished with my qst's. I made mine a little differently. This is only my second quilt and I have learned a lot. I hope to post pictures soon.

Well, I've made an executive decision here lol.

I made my 4-patches using a lovely charm set. Still have Loads of charms left.

    This week's clue calls for 5.25 squares. 5.25 into 5.00 won't go.

So I've decided I'm still going to make my QSTs out of these charms, and I'll trim my 4-patches down to match them. This does mean I'll have to adjust any farther clues slightly to fit as well. Hope my maths is up to the task lol. But at least I'll have got the best out of this charm pack (100 Judy Neimeyer charms.)

I'll post a photo when I've completed the QSTs -half way there now.....

    Cheers, K

I must be doing something wrong. I am curious about why you all don't like QST.
