I have a question. It regarding when I sandwich(i hope you will understand what i mean) the three fabrics together. To stabilised the quilt should I stitch in the ditch around the "star" or just on the borders? Planning on free motion around the whole quilt. What other ideas would you recommend?

Karann as long as you have your sandwich basted it is a matter of personal preference if you SID to stabilize or not. If you are doing an over all FMQ it may not be necessary. If you are stitching each block individually then SID around each block helps

Happy Easter everyone and April’s fools day. Mother Nature played a joke on us today. We had an 1.5”s of snow. So I guess we are close to 7” inches for the year now. This is way below our normal average. I hear winter cold wants to stay for a few more days.

Only 1 more week before train #19 leaves the station. Patiently waiting, starting my baking now.

Whew! Finally finished this mystery! I enlarged it by 8 blocks and then added 2 borders with 4-patch cornerstones.

Thank you everyone for sharing your sewing/quilting knowledge. I have been sewing basic squares together for years for my church group (they cut and I am one of their sewers.). I also have been sewing blocks with more parts in them for 5-6 years but I feel that growth has definitely happened over the past 6 months. I know part of it is that I have finally found my 1/4" spot on my machine I bought last year but it certainly helps to have mysteries like this along with some BOW and BOM's that I am doing also. The pictures and interaction between posters on this board is very informative. My die cutter helps too! Feeling Blessed!

This top finished at 70.5" by 84.5" and will be donated to my church group to finish.
