    Default Name This Block! (please)

I recently purchased a vintage quilt top at an antique mall. I do not know the name of the block. One lady in a group said Album block; in researching I found it looks like the center of a postage stamp quilt. Any ideas of a name and date the block originated? Thank you in advance.

I would agree ... Album Block
Keep in mind, there is often more than one name for the old blocks.
Likewise, different blocks might be called the same name.

A simple google search, gives you a lot of information ....... as below

This may be the "Chicago's Pavement" block. I did one (color placement is different but same block) for my Sylvia Bridal... Here's a picture.... Not sure if changing the color placement also effects the name of the block....

Here are a couple of Album blocks I did, too. Again, color placement is different and the second one needs another row to match. Not sure how many variations of Album block's there are...

I found this block on Barbara Brackmans blog "Civil War Quilts": the "Sugar Camp Quilt" by Jennifer Chiaverini!
Don't know whether is a link is allowed, if wanted I'll send it as a private message!

QuiltE, Thank you. I don't know why I didn't think to do a search...well, yes, I do. I thought Album blocks were applique; I'm sure you know what I'm thinking off.
Thank you for pointing me in the right direction.

Hi, I believe this block is called Christian Cross, it is in Eleanor Burn's book, Egg Money Quilts.
