What a beautiful quilt! I've always wanted to try one of those. Any good tips to keep in mind?

Absolutely beautiful! I have her book, but I've not yet attempted a quilt from it. I'm thinking that I need to try one.

After a lot of 'frog stitching' I realized the cutting of the 3/4" 'leading' fabric was an absolute necessity. I used starch, cut it singly, 6 or so inches at a time. Sewing time was also very slow on those leading pieces. I tried cutting the black, which was Hoffmann batik Raven, on the length of the fabric, but then it seemed to tend to ravel. It was an interesting journey.

Beautiful quilt. I am sure it will raise a lot of money at the Gala.
