    Default My first barn quilt

In the summer, we take our rv to the UP of Michigan. it bugs me that I don't have the space to spread out and work on my quilts for 2 months so I decided to check out tents. We have this ez up that we never use so I found this accessory for it called a camp cube, it hooks to the top center peak and just velcros to the legs, takes about 10 minutes to set up. Now I have the perfect sewing room and "my space". This year, I decided I wanted to try my hand at making barn quilts which I love to see along the backroads of our travels. I have one that my cousin made but I wanted to make one of my own. This is my first.

Great accommodations with even the dog all comfortable. Question though--the barn quilt, is that painted wood? It's beautiful.

I love your space! I have lived in MI all my life and have never crossed the Big Mac -. Great weather up there for outdoor camping and quilting. What a way to keep the bugs and bear away -.

What a cool find for your pop up canopy. I never have heard of that before so had to go online to check them out. That's a perfect solution for your traveling sewing studio!

I get it with not being able to quilt for months at a stretch and it looks like you've solved that dilemma! I'm hoping to solve that problem for myself once we move...this week...and then I want to make a barn quilt too.
We took a road trip a couple years back through W. Va., and saw lots of barn quilts. Picked up a brochure on where to find them across the country, with pictures and info. That was not part of our plan but was a welcome surprise.

Love what you did and love that the dog is also welcome...
