I had never heard of a biscournu either! That is super cute and I have feeling, thanks to Dunster's sleuthing and finding those awesome tutes, that we will probably be seeing lots of pictures pop up of those wonderful little pincusions.

(taking a bow) I'm glad that helped. The trick was searching for star pincushion rather than biscornu. Like many others, I had never heard that word before, but we all know what a pincushion is!

i love pincushion patterns. have spent many happy hours searching for images, free patterns & creating pin cushions. biscornu pincushion patterns are frequently seen in my searches. i love them, tho not enough to make them. here is a link to a article discussing biscornus by Mary Corbet, one of my favorite blog sites for needlework. there's several nice links to sites with well illustrated how-to instructions.

Once again I have learned something new from you ladies on this board. I'm going to try to make one of these today, looks a bit challenging to me. Thank you all for the great ideas and all the help on this board.
