Default Husqvarna Lily 555 Automatic Buttonhole

    Hello,

I have been trying to sew a buttonhole on my Husqvarna Lily 555 sewing machine using the plug-in automatic buttonhole foot. I followed and double-checked the directions in the manual but the machine doesn't stitch the buttonhole as it should. At first it stitched a long line of buttonhole stitches without stopping even though it was set to a 12 mm buttonhole. When I tried it again, it kept sewing without advancing as if the feed dogs weren't moving the fabric along. I'm pretty sure the problem is user error as the machine seems to be functioning fine otherwise.

Can anyone offer any suggestions on how to use the automatic buttonhole foot correctly? Thank you in advance.

The problem has been solved. After the first couple of practice buttonholes, the automatic buttonhole started to sew perfectly. I guess it just needed time to adjust since it hadn't been used in a while.

How lucky you are. This is newer than most of the beasties we discuss here. Welcome aboard.

Hi! I have a Husqvarna Viking Freesia 425 and had similar issues as there were no instructions with the buttonhole sensor foot. I found it so tricky to use! Since then I’ve gathered some tips which I can give you if you still need some. Let me know. Linda
