First thing I bought when I discovered you could buy things without leaving the house was 5 large priority boxes of one in wide full width cuts. I still have over 4 boxes. With only the pink ones I made 22 strips that were cut into 12 inch square blocks. What I had made without knowing it was a rail fence quilt. Everything in this room is pink. There are even some pink patches in the Tony Lama cowgirl (coat of many colors) boots. My feet are too big now to wear them, but I was never bucked off while wearing them.

This will be one stunning quilt when it is finished. Your color choices rule!

I am very happy with the sailboat quilt I made my husband for Fathers Day. Loved being inspired by the blues and teals of the ocean.

This is so gorgeous, MsHeirloom! You are right to be happy with it. I'll bet your husband loves it.

Barb, your blocks are fabulous! Those jewel tones really sing. It will be beautiful when you get it done.

Default String quilts in one color

I do not know if this appeals to you, but I grouped colors in this string quilt I made.

Has anyone on the board ever done one of these? If so would you show me your photo's. May need some inspiration as I go forward.
Here is one with a variety of colors....

I, too, am thinking of a single color (blue) string quilt. I will use fabrics from very light to very dark, but all the same color. Will sew up 4 blocks to see if I actually like how it looks. Yes, I am a "controlled" scrappy gal as well, so the strings will be carefully chosen. (Does this negate the whole premise of scrappy? LOL)

All the quilts posted are stunning. I love, love, love string quilts. My avatar is a 2 color string quilt.
