Thank you for these lovely pictures, from one who will never have the opportunity to see them in person. The fascination with Italian marble is still as alive today as it apparently was in early history.

When traveling around Spain and Portugal, i did a similar thing. Took pictures of the tile work with ideas of making a quilt out of them some day. If travel gets lifted, i have tickets for Greece in June and will be doing a pilgrimage to the many Orthodox Christian churchs and will look for more tiles. The churches will have icons but also may have tile designs as well.
