    Mary quite contrary,
What is the name of the pattern of your quilt? I really want to make it. It is such an example of controlled scrappy! I can see so many possibilities with this pattern, but I have been trying to draw it on paper and can't do it.

That makes me very happy that you all liked my quilt that was from "recycled" fabrics. Ok, so it was trash. LOL

Your pattern is on its way. I included a cpl. of other patterns just because it seemed foolish to send just the one. Had to get mileage out of that stamp. Consider it a gift from a new friend.

It just goes to show that one woman's trash is a quilting woman's treasure.
    Your quilt is beautiful.

    Sewcrafty-

One thing that helped me overcome this stopping block is I asked myself some questions:

Why do I feel this way? Who says it has to be all color coordinated? Who cares? Are the Quilt Police gonna come and drag me off to who knows where? What's it gonna hurt? and Why does it matter?

If I don't like the quilt after it is made, I can donate it.

My biggest naysayer is my DD. My biggest supporter is my DS.
DD needs the control in colors. DS has taken art school and taught me to look at other color combinations. That was the most freeing experience. Think outside the box. It is very satisfying and freeing.

Hi "rapture.....". This so true. Another pattern I found I loved using larger scraps than my wastebasket pcs. is Crazy Patch. I know this is not a new pattern but I didn't know that when I played around with my first one. I just fussy cut about 5-6" irreg. shapes from a fabric I loved that gave me the figures I liked. (birds, flowers, fairies, etc.)

Then I just added odd shaped strips of scrappy fabrics to all sides. Once it seemed big enough, I squared it into the size block I wanted. No, I don't use a foundation pc. the rules say I should use but my way works for me. Guess I missed that class. LOL. I found it to be a great way to use those almost to sm. to use fabrics. There are no mistakes on this one.
