My grandson is getting married in july and he lives in Texas, so I thought I would make them a Lone Star quilt as a wedding gift. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get all of those points to come togeather. I tried pinning and they still migrated when I sewed the strips, so I tried glue. I now have been hand tacking each point before I sew on the machine. Is there any better way to set those points togeather? Would appreciate any and all suggestions.

I wish I could help, I plan on doing the Native American version (Lakota Star) one day.

QuiltSmart is what most of my guild members use for perfect points for this pattern. http://www.quiltsmart.com/

When I made mine I made sure the 1/4inch seam was not pressed the same way on the two pieces I was joining together. That way they butt up together and meet better. It worked well for me.

I did a lot of pinning and pressing to get mine lined up. Just take a breath and go back at it.

Are your tips/points getting pulled down into the needle hole when you start and stop?

Thank you all so much for your suggestions. I think I will try Quilt smart. I really want this to be a beautiful quilt for my grandson and his bride.

When making my lone star I had similar problems and I found starching/sizing made a big difference on the bias stretching! Good Luck!

I think it's the pre-printed interfacing. There is a demo on how to use it. This is what I found:
