I make these bags for my DD all the time. I use hen scratch bags, sheep feed bags, & bird seed bags & use this tutorial for my pattern:

    https://www.fresheggsdaily.com/2012/...-bag-tote.html

They are very durable --- industrial strength--- & will last a long, long time. I use the webbing for my straps but you can use the left over bag pieces for straps if you don't want to buy webbing.

So funny to read about these bags when there are no chickens around here.
But, last year I used the 2 empty grass seed bags and made big bags. They were white with red writing
Knew I probably wasn’t the only one to see a good idea.
Yesterday at the campground garbage area I picked up a bag that originally
had soil in it so brought home and washed. Hope to use it to hold firewood.

    Default Tarps and dry bag

I volunteer with an organization that helps those living homeless. Just starting a project of making tarps out of the feed bags but i also came up with a simple dry bag as well.

I came here bc i'm having the same issue as everyone else with the underside of my sewing. Thanks for the ideas. Illl let you know how it goes. I also wanted to share some pics but cant figure out how!

Im working on a pattern for a simple pup tent too.

    Welcome Mokie to the QB!!
from another Canuck ... actually a "neighbour",
being that I am just up the 401 about 1-1/2 hours from you!

    Someone mentioned changing the needle.
I'd opt for a "Jeans Needle" ... tough, strong, sharp!
Regardless of what type of needle you use,
choose a coarser one, such as a 14 or 16.
