    I was thinking of adding a middle block about the size of two blocks for center in which I would FMQ some type of design. Thank you for your advice.

    Thank you for the pictures. I had thought about appliqueing them at first but decided upon the embroidery.

    I should have stated that this image is from the advertisement for the blocks from Jack Dempsey, not my actual blocks.

    Produce 2 complimentary 18" blocks to fill in the center and have a 3x4 layout. Something similar to this:

    Thank you for the picture! Yes this is what I was thinking and the use of Dresden Plates reminds me of the umbrellas! Thank you again.

    If you make 10 18" blocks - now you have 20 total and that's a nice 4x5 setting. That's 72" across before you start adding borders or sashing

    Another option for your blocks. I couldn't figure out how to copy your ladies into EQ. I'm sure it's simple. One day I will take the time to learn. But how about some young ballerinas?
