    You can also add a large tub of yogurt (0%) either plain, vanilla or banana flavoured to the basic recipe without the whipped topping.

    That sounds much better. Not a fan of "whipped topping" and other fake foods.

    I don't know why Cool Whip or the fluff in a can is thought to be better. Reading the ingredients in a container of the bought stuff and then read the ingredients in a carton of cream should convince anyone to make whipped cream. It only takes a couple of minutes.

    This is the recipe for pitashio dessert, or Watergate salad. You use pitashio instant pudding instead of vanilla, crushed Pineapple, cool whip and walnuts or pecans.(I also added some cottage cheese)refreshing salad!

    Tranum, thank you for the size used because I make my own pudding dry mix.

    SuzzyQ, I can use my homemade yogurt and add some vanilla. Thanks for the tip.

    Absolutely agree with this, onebyone. If you want the effect of the fancy shape you get from a can you can buy real whipped cream in a can. I agree with you, too ptquilts. The fake stuff is gross.
