    Default Layer Chops is finished

Here is the finished product - Layer Chops by Donna Jordan. The panto is Spilt Paint by Anne Bright Designs. My husband loves this quilt, but he wondered why I made it so short. It's 55"X64", and now I wonder why I shortened the pattern too. The original was 5x7 blocks, and I made it 5x6 blocks. Oh, well, live and learn.

Great Man Quilt! no wonder your DH loves it!

..... as for the size discussion with your DH,
I see 6x7 blocks, so is this the quilt you made?

You are so right. The original was 5x7 blocks, and I made it 6x7, so it's not shorter than the original. It's wider. That makes more sense. I couldn't think of why I would have shortened it, and it turns out that I didn't. I pieced the quilt last December when I was away for the winter, but didn't quilt it until now. I guess I forgot my rationale for changing the size. The live and learn lesson should have been, think and count before you post. Thanks for the correction.

Tell your DH you were trying to give him more to be cozy with ... and he can get more length out of it, if he puts it a bit on the diagonal so the point goes over his toes!!

Or does he have method in his madness and wants you to make another one, with his colour/fabric choices? Just might be his plan!!

Or threaten that he can't use it any more ... and see how fast he is madly in love with it. Again!
