Default Recommendations on a Magnetic seam guide

It has been many years since I have been quilting. I saw a magnetic seam guide advertised. I looked them up and there are so many. Does anyone have recommendations for one? Thanks

I've use these in the past on my vintage machines. Magnetic seam guides aren't recommended for computerized machines. Something about that magnets and computers not being a good pairing.

These are the type I use. Similar ones are made by several different companies and range from $2.50 to 9.00. They stay put because they have a magnet with a heavy "pull" that keeps them right where you put them on your machine bed.

Many of the newer sewing machines have a stitch plate that is aluminum so the magnetic seam guides won't work on them... ask me how I know....

I never seemed to use mine effectively. I just use Scotch tape.

I have asked every machine dealer at most big shows I go to if a magnet will harm the new fancy machines. They all said no because the parts that may be harmed are shielded. The very old computer machines may be at risk because they weren't shielded. It would take a very powerful magnet to cause damage to the newer machines. I use one like showbizgirl. It stays in place until I take it off.

Good to know. I do have one newish computerized machine but rarely piece with it.
