I swear a consistent 1/4" eludes me! I promise after a 10 year break from quilt blocks I am definitely humbled by my machine. For years I used my 1991 Pfaff 1473 that I LOVED. During mask making it almost died and I bought my current machine sight unseen and untried, boy what a new learning curve for this old dog.

Thanks in advance for "grace" with my inconsistent construction. These were definitely sewn with cursing but no wine.
It's prefect. Thank you. I am really excited about both fabrics I submitted this BOOM.

Got a question. I noticed a couple of people asked for traditional block. What does this mean? Are my paper pieces blocks traditional?

It’s been a really difficult time.

My sister’s husband went into respiratory failure a week ago Tuesday. I received my package on Wednesday, but I was at the hospital. Sadly, my brother-in-law passed away last Friday. It has completely turned our family upside down. He was only 66, and they were never able to determine what caused the respiratory failure.

I’m finally home today and will start working on my blocks this week. I’ve truly enjoyed seeing all of your beautiful creations—they’ve brought a little brightness during a hard time.

Thank you all 💕

I'm so very sorry to hear about your brother in law passing away. I can't imagine the pain my sister, in turn me, would be in if he passed away. Peaceful thoughts and happy memories are my wish to you and your family.

To me there are several paper pieced that would be "traditional" ... such as a hexi flower garden one for WMUTeacher's fabric or a variety of hearts, butterflies, trees ones. I "googled" traditional paper pieced blocks and found many that could be considered traditional to me. Good luck

WMUTEACH

Here's my 2 color version of a Buckeye Beauty. I really really liked this so you can expect to see others using this pattern.

Even though the one fabric looks like it has a pattern in the photo, it's all the very same muslin looking fabric ... just a trick of the lighting.

Hey, if you don’t have the batiks to go with my whales or lobsters, don’t sweat it or make a special trip to the store. Just use your solids or totals… and if they have a little green or purple in with the blue, that’s fine.
I love my block, It's great. Thank you. The cats cradle and whale block are great too

This is a great block, so neat and crisp.

I got two more done tonight, both for Sewbiz. I hope the whale block is what you are looking for. I hope this is the right blues.

Hav, my condolences on the loss of your dear brother-in-law. Such a sad time for your family. I’m glad you like the Grandmother’s favorite. It was a pleasure to make for you and your friend.

Hav, I guess I toss that word traditional around too easily and assuming everyone can read my mind. Traditional is not paper pieced in my thinking. For me, if traditional seems confusing or leaves you unsure, think all of the variations of stars, you can't miss with that.

Moon, i like how the two colors with with your Buckeye Beauty. I may just steal that idea for some of my blocks. I have it in my pattern collection under another name, but that is common among "traditional" blocks". Tee-Hee-Hee.

Happy stitching everyone, I am at as retreat, working away on several projects. No finishes but lots of progress.

I love your paper pieced blocks. would you have a tutorial here on the forum? I love working on these blocks but my starting pieces of fabric always come up short and the block is ruined. What is the secret?
