Interesting thread. We used to belong, but no longer. IMHO, the discounts are insignificant, the insurance is a paid advertisement, and the political views seem to follow the most recent Approval Rating results! Of course, I could be wrong!

DH belonged years ago and we did get AARP discounts at motels/hotels but then he found out the motels give senior discounts without the AARP card so he ended his memership.

Don't bother. My apt. pays for it, but I am not going to get it anymore. They spend too much money on advertising and mailings to memebers. Have heard of another one called AMC. Will investigate it and see what it offers. AARP lobbied for Ombama Care and I personally do no like this. My opinion!
As QuiltingNinaSue says. CEO's really get BIG BUCKS, they do not listen to our opinions and concerns.
